James “Jimmy” Michael Erny

Jimmy Erny, 29, Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at his home.

Jimmy was born June 3, 1983, in Merriam, Kansas, to James A. and Yvette L. Erny. He was a 2001 graduate of Bishop Miege High School. Jimmy received a Criminal Justice Degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College where he was on the Dean's List. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. Jimmy was KU Mens Basketball's biggest fan. His quick wit and charming smile will be forever missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Al G. Erny and John F. Klenk. Survivors include his parents, James and Yvette Erny, Shawnee, Kansas; three sisters, Michelle (Scott) Kennedy, Kathryne Erny (Matthew Young), Sarah (Brandon) Wenger; grandmother, Virginia Klenk; five nieces and nephews and a dog named Rocco.

Memorial service will be 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 18, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
