James D. Fulton

b. October 8, 1938

Jim was born October 8, 1938 on his grandfather’s birthday and on his grandfather’s farm Northeast of Winchester, Kansas. Jim owns and manages this farm today. Jim attended Winchester Elementary and Winchester Rural High School graduating in 1956; he then attended Clark’s School of Business in Topeka.

Jim worked for the Santa Fe Railway and Security Benefit Life (SBL) in Topeka, Kansas. At SBL Jim was supervisor in the Data Processing Department from 1961 until 1964. In 1964 Jim joined Sperry Univac in Kansas City that later merged with Burroughs Corporation to become Unisys. Jim left Unisys in 1994. While at Unisys he was a project manager for large-scale computer systems.

Jim served in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1968. While on active duty he was deployed to Guatemala, Cuba twice during the Cuban missile crises.

Jim was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite and a 50 year member of the Abdallah Shrine.  Jim was active in the Abdallah Nomad golfers and the bingo committee.

Jim leaves behind his long-time companion Harryette (Howie) Loschke, Ellen Loschke, Anne (Dave) Hauser, and Tina (Tim) Weingartner. Also surviving are his sister Marie (Raymond) Riley, nephew and nieces, grand-nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Services

Visitation is set for 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203. Funeral Service is set for 10:00 AM, Friday, December 1, 2017 at Old Mission United Methodist Church 5519 State Park Road, Fairway, Kansas 66205. Burial will take place at Reform Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Winchester, Kansas.
