James McKnight, 86 of Roeland Park, KS passed away Sept. 14, 2016.
James was born Jan. 12, 1930 in Flynn, TX to Tom and Lula (Grimes) McKnight.
James is survived by his sons; Glenn McKnight and his wife Heidi, Randy and wife Dana Black-McKnight, and Tommy McKnight. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, two brothers; Charles McKnight and Leo McKnight and sister Reba White and by niece Ellen Robinson along with many other nieces and nephews. James was an active member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church, 934 Scott Ave, KC, KS where he pastored during the mid 1960's to the mid 1970's. James spent time doing mission work in Israel and Jamaica and Florida. James was a man loved by many. He shared his day with the people of the Cloverleaf Building Complex for over 20 years.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A funeral service will take place Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10 am at the Belton Gospel Tabernacle Church, 811 S. Cleveland Ave, Belton, MO with burial following at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens Cemetery.
