James John Pelot, 54, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014. Jim was born on April 7, 1959, in Overland Park, KS. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Betty and John Pelot, and his sister-in-law Kay Pelot. Jim was lovingly cared for by the nurturing staff at Community Living Opportunities (CLO), an organization Betty and John co-founded in 1977 for individuals with developmental disabilities. He is survived by his brother Steve Pelot, sister Gayle Thompson and her husband Steve, six nieces and nephews, and his CLO family. His gentle, sweet spirit will be missed.

Memorial Celebration

A celebration of his life followed by a gathering of friends and family will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 3, at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, in Shawnee.
