James A. Richardson

James A. Richardson of Shawnee passed away Sunday evening, January 9, 2011, at his home.

James was born February 21, 1925, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to George H. and Eliza Richardson. He met his wife Christine Dopson in Monroe, Louisiana. They were married January 25, 1946. They made their home in Shawnee, Kansas, since 1955. He was a WW II veteran, Army Air Corp, Staff Sergeant. He worked for General Motors for 33 years retiring in 1981 and for Wal-Mart for 15 years retiring in 2009.

He is preceded in death by his wife Christine; brothers Howard Richardson, Herbert Bozarth, George Allen, Kenneth Richardson, and Roy Richardson; and sister Hazel Spruk. He is survivied by his sons Ed Richardson and his family and Randy Richardson and his family; brother Russell Richardson; sister Mary Molt; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 14, 2011, at Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple, 21533 Midland Drive, Shawnee, Kansas.
