James C. Stewart

James C. Stewart, 78, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas.

Jim was born May 6, 1933, in Ludlow, Missouri, to Ralph C. and Alta V. Stewart. He was employed with the Kansas City Gas Service Company for 39 years, retiring as a supervisor. Following Jim's retirement, he worked at Price Chopper for 12 years. Jim was very active with the Boy Scouts of America in Overland Parkand was a past secretary and treasurer. He was also a sponsor of a Camp Fire Group.

Jim is survived by his wife, Joanne Stewart; son, Charles (Dana) Stewart, Spring Hill, Kansas; daughter, Suzanne (Andrew) Blair, Olathe, Kansas; sister, Lois Ruxlow, Owasso, Oklahoma; two brothers, Dean Stewart, Plano, Texas, and Richard Stewart, The Villages, Florida; and seven grandchildren.

Jim was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.

Memorial services will be 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
