James G. Swanson, Sr.

Jim G. Swanson, Sr. 54, of Merriam, Kansas, passed away September 27, 2010.

Jim was born December 31, 1955, in Kansas City Missouri, to Fred and Beverly (Ryan) Swanson. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 1974.

Jim is survived by daughter Amy Theiss (Josh) and 3 grandchildren; son Jimmy Swanson (Jordan); mother Beverly Hedquist; grandmother Ruth Ryan; brothers, Mike Swanson (Susie) and Jeff Swanson (Sherri); and by his dog Roxy.

Donations in memory of Jim may be made in lieu of flowers to Animal Haven, 9800 W. 67th Street, Merriam, Kansas 66203.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, October 1, 2010, at the chapel. Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, Kansas.
