James “Bob” Tolin, Sr.

May 17, 1925 — July 19, 2010

James "Bob" Tolin, Sr. 85, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away July 19, 2010.

Bob was born May 17, 1925 in Kansas City, Kansas, to John E. and Agnes (Etchingham) Tolin. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was employed by Rock Island Railroad for 46 years.

He was active in Johnson County Sports programs and coached 3&2 Baseball for many years.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and one brother. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mae Tolin; his son James R. Tolin, Jr. (Lou Ann) of Bellingham, Washington; his daughter Nancy S. Tolin of Clovis, California; one sister, Lois Moore of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Bob's memory may be made to the City Union Mission, 1100 E. 11th St., Kansas City, Missouri 64106.

Memorial Service

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 23, 2010, at 6:30 pm at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
