James E. Wisong

July 15, 1946 — April 10, 2010

James E. "Jim" Wisong, 63, Mission, Kansas, left us to be with the Lord Saturday, April 10, 2010.

Jim was born in Ellington, Missouri, July 15, 1946, but was raised in Kansas City. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War. After meeting his devoted wife of 38 years, Fran, he owned and operated Wisong Signs in Kansas City, Missouri for over 35 years. He and Fran raised two lovely daughters Denise and Jaime, and thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends; especially spoiling children and grandchildren with "prizes and treats".

Jim's talents/hobbies over the years included anything creative/artistic, aviation, golf, babysitting, loving others selflessly, practical joking and making homemade greeting cards enjoyed by all! Jim had a greatly contagious sense of humor lovingly assigning nicknames to his loved ones. He is loved so very much! Jim's presence will be greatly missed, but his ornery spirit will live on in all of our hearts.

Survivors include his mother Thelma Kozak; wife Frances; daughter Denise Bailey, son-in-law David, and grandchildren Alyssa and Alex; daughter Jaime Carlson, husband David and grandsons Clayton and Wyatt; along with countless others he considered family.

The family suggests donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301.
