Jane Ellen Broll

Jane E. Broll, 54, of Shawnee, KS, passed away, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family and love. We were blessed with her life as an example to us all that you can find beauty and a positive outlook in any situation.

Jane was born in Kansas City, Kansas. She was a 1980 graduate of Shawnee Mission East, and, in 1992, earned a Bachelor of Arts at the Florida State University. Jane was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Community. She was an avid reader, and an enthusiastic volunteer in schools and church. She loved attending sports and music events, especially those involving her children.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, William B., and Katharine A. Shope; Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Lt Col Peter J. Broll, USAF (Ret.); son Tony (LTJG, USN), son Sam, and son Matt (SSgt Kansas Air National Guard) and his wife, Cassidy; daughter, Jessica (Cadet 4th Class US Air Force Academy); and sisters Rebecca Bush, and Sara Jones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Community, 12800 W 75th Street Shawnee, Kansas 66216. Visitation precedes the Mass and begins at 9:00 AM. Entombment will be held separately on January 2, 2016 at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
