Jane L. Dickerson

Jane Louise Dickerson died Saturday morning, March 12, 2011, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Jane was born December 18, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late William C. and Alice L. Allen. She moved with her family to Kansas City at age 12 and attended Shawnee Mission North High school. She graduated from the Lutheran Teachers Colleges in Concordia, Missouri and River Forest, Illinois, and was married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission Kansas.

Jane taught elementary education at Calvary Lutheran Grade School for many years. She earned her Master’s Degree in Library Science and later received the Governor’s Teacher of the Year Award while working at Morse Elementary school as a Library Media Specialist.

Jane loved working with children, collecting antiques, playing the piano, and was a dedicated loving member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Jane was survived by her brother James Allen and his family, and her sister Marianne Dubois and her family.

The family requests memorial contributions be given to the Music and Children’s programs at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5601 W. 62nd Street, Mission, Kansas 66202.

Memorial Service

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church.
