Jane E. Janasz, 77, of Prairie Village, KS passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at her home.
Jane was born January 9, 1940 to the late Arthur and Helen Fittro in Clarksburg, WV. She spent her childhood in Fostoria, OH until enlisting in the United States Marines in 1958. While serving in the Marines, Jane married the love of her life V.S. "Bud" Janasz on April 25, 1959. After leaving the military Jane settled in Kansas City to raise a family. She also ran an in-home daycare for over thirty years from the family home. Jane dedicated her life raising her family and caring for her daycare children like they were her own. After retiring from childcare, she spent her time hosting garage sales and managing estate sales. Jane was known for her joyous demeanor and positive attitude.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bud Janasz; two brothers David and Jim Fittro; and sister, Marge Hurley.
Jane is survived by a daughter, Marie Caldwell and husband Michael; three sons, Steven Janasz and wife Shelly; Philip Janasz and wife Leslie; Paul Brian Janasz and girlfriend, Alicia Pettey-Brown; a sister, Mary Tyree; five grandchildren, Bret Caldwell, Rhiannon Caldwell, Jessica Janasz, Riley Janasz and Ramsey Janasz.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, August 10 at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee. A celebration of Jane's life will follow at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Corinth Cemetery.
