Jane Clare Mirocke, 81, passed away April 6, 2015. Jane was born June 20, 1933 in K.C., MO and spent most of her life in Shawnee, KS where she was a member of St. Joseph parish, graduating from both the grade school and high school. She dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was proud of her Irish heritage and devoted to her Catholic faith. We loved her warmth, wit and beautiful smile. For many years Jane was known as "Mrs. Coach" due to the supportive role she played for her husband Gennaro Mirocke, a longtime coach and teacher at St. Joseph High School, Shawnee and St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Overland Park.
Jane's family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by Prairie Elder Care in Overland Park. She is preceded in death by her husband "Rocky," parents Clara and William Hendrix, infant brother and sister Patrick and Peggy Hendrix, and brother William Hendrix, Jr. Survivors include her children Annette Mirocke Evans, Tony Mirocke, Pat Mirocke, Joe Mirocke and Mike Mirocke; son-in-law Arthur Evans, daughter-in-laws Cris, Linda and Shelli Mirocke; and grandchildren Brandon, Dominic, Andrew, Jacob, Lauren, Kathy, Peter, Nicholas, Daniel and Delaney Mirocke.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee, KS with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 9 also at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, followed by burial at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery. Jane suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Thomas Aquinas High School Guardian Angel Fund or to Sisters, Servants of Mary in Kansas City, KS.
