Janet Akani, 71, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away on January 31, 2017. Janet was born March 27, 1945 in Accra, Ghana to Gabriel Abiri and Ruth Akani. Janet is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Fred Opuni) Osei, siblings, Rebecca Alake, Abigail A. Abiri, Dorcas A. Abiri, David Olorunfemi, Hannah Abiri, Janet Akani (Lydia Jarin), Iyabo Abiri. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John K. Akoto, son, Samuel Akoto in 2012.

Services

A Visitation is set for 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM, Friday, March 3, 2017 at Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203. A Funeral Service is set for 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Shawnee United Methodist Church 10700 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203. Burial will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery.
