Janet Lea Grismore

Janet L. Grismore, 88, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away April 24, 2022 at Lakeview Village.

Janet was one of four daughters of Jack and Mable Ryan. She was born and raised in Russell, Iowa. Janet married Duane Grismore February 13th, 1953. They had 4 children; Steve, Mark, Jo Lynn, and Brenda.

They moved to Shawnee, Kansas where Janet enjoyed watching her dog’s race at Woodlands, painting ceramics, and playing bunko. Duane and Janet loved to celebrate big events at the casino! She never missed a Chiefs, Royals, or KU basketball game. Her dog Dallas has been her greatest companion later in life.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband Duane Grismore, son Steven Grismore; parents Jack and Mable Ryan, and siblings Marilyn, Marlene, and Judy.

She is survived by her children Mark Grismore (Edie), Jo Lynn Kissinger (Keith), and Brenda Grismore; grandchildren Carrie L’Heureux, Stephanie Dunbar, Katie Bills, Brooke Santee, Dalton Kissinger, and Jami Tetuan; Great grandchildren Braiden, Logan, Mason, Avery, Addison, Tyler, Vinny, and Gus.
