Janice Kay Taylor, 75, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away on January 13, 2024. She was born on November 3, 1948, in Keokuk, Iowa. Janice earned a master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Missouri. She spent a lot of her career teaching in the Kansas City Missouri Public School District.
Janice had a creative talent that was evidenced by her numerous ceramic pieces she created at the pottery studio at Johnson County Community College. She enjoyed passing time outside as much as possible and spent a lot of her hours gardening outdoors in her yard.
Janice attended Church of the Resurrection, in Overland Park, Kansas. She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Watson, grandsons, Beckett and Brooks Watson, brothers, Ronnie Burrus and George Burrus, and nephew, Billy McLaren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Phyllis Burrus, and her sister, Judy McLaren.
