Jean Ellis (Lowry) Fuller

Jean Ellis Lowry Fuller, age 83, of Kansas City, Missouri, sadly left on May 8th following an extended illness with Parkinson’s, and a stroke she had on June 8th, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Fuller III on May 30th, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Terie (Travis), her son, Jay (Kathy), two granddaughters, Samantha and Brittany, and four great grandchildren, Ellie, Riley, Braelyn and Levi.

Jean lived her first 25 years of life in the mountains of Virginia. She was an educator, having graduated from Longwood College in June of 1963. Following graduation, she taught for 3 years in Virginia. At age 25, she left to work on a graduate degree in education at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She chose University of New Mexico because her twin sister (who preceeded her in death) was raising her family in the area. She then met her husband of 37 years and they got married. She later relocated to Johnson County, KS.

Jean enjoyed teaching, being a mother and grandmother, gardening, practicing her faith, playing bridge, reading, and volunteering her time through Meals on Wheels & Johnson County voting polls. Jean has an extensive friend group, “The Church Ladies”, who hold a special place in her heart.

A visitation will take place on Monday, May 13th, 2024, from 5:00-7:00pm at the Amos Family Funeral Home, with a rosary starting at 5:00pm. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with entombment in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum to follow. A luncheon will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church following the graveside.
