Jean Nugent Gilmer

Jean Nugent Gilmer, 88, of Urbandale, IA passed away on February 27th, 2019. Jean Marie Dyche was born August 23, 1930 to Thomas E. Dyche and Martha H. Blaine Dyche. Jean graduated from St. Teresa's Academy, Kansas City, MO, in 1949. She married Thad E. Nugent in 1952. They had four children. They divorced in 1972. Jean married Richard W. Gilmer 1981. Richard passed away in 1985. Jean worked for the Green Jewelry Company from 1972 until she retired in 2005. She was a long time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Jean loved her family deeply and enjoyed every moment with her kids and grandkids. She was preceded in death by her sons; Thad E. Nugent, Jr. and Kevin P. Nugent both of Shawnee, KS and her daughter, Jean M.Johnson, Knoxville, TN. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathleen A. Wengert of Urbandale, IA and brother, Joseph G.Dyche (Dolores) of Lenexa, KS, grandchildren; Shannon R. Smith (Brian), Thaddeus E. Nugent, III (Tessa), Christina M. Rister (Tim), Michael W.Detwiler, Sean P. Johnson, Shauna L. Benjamin-Bryce (Chelsea) Timothy M. Nugent (Cleu), Hailey B. Wengert Burton (Justin) Grace B.Wengert, great-grandchildren ; Olivia, Noah, Thaddeus IV, Aidan, Karolina, and Henley; nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS on Friday, March 8th from 5 to 7 PM.  Rosary will begin at 5 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS on Saturday, March 9th at 10:00 AM.  Interment of cremains at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS.
