Jeffery Jennings

Jeffery Jennings, 18, went home to be with the Lord and his family who preceded him in death on November 27, 2011.

Jeffery was born December 18, 1992, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He graduated from Shawnee Mission South in 2011 and was attending classes at Johnson County Community College.

When he entered a room his smile and face lit up the entire space with that innocent twinkle in his eye. He loved comedy and brought so much laughter comfort and help to his family and friends. His illumination, humor, strength and resolve will be missed until we meet again…in the sweet by and by.

He leaves behind many friends at East Independence Church of Christ and Vineyard OP Christian Fellowship, Independence School District and Shawnee Mission South High School. He also had friends and family worldwide, Can inTurkey (his brother from another mother), others from India, Cambodia and Rwanda.

He was involved in Scouts from Tiger Pack 327 to 1st Class Boy Scout Troop 161. He was involved in Martial Arts at Kenukan Academy, physical fitness at the Independence YMCA, Matt Ross and Healthridge Fitness Centers. He enjoyed video games, movies and music…and his life was more than these words can describe and touched so many more than can be written in so short a column.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2011, at East Independence Church of Christ, 2020 S. 291 Highway, Independence, Missouri. Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011, at the church.

In January 2012, Jesse and Amanda Mook are leaving to the Phillipines for 10 years to run the orphanage. They have 6 children needing your help — 4 little girls and 2 little boys. Angela and Angelica were orphaned 5 years ago by a mudslide.
