Jeffrey Neil Crump, age 22, born January 23, 1992, died October 22, 2014. Jeff was born at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. Jeff grew up in the Young's Park neighborhood of Overland Park, Kansas.

He graduated from Shawnee Mission Horizons High School in 2009. Jeff developed a love of music at a very early age. He saved up for and purchased his first guitar at age 10. By the time he was 13, he and his cousin Eddie Holton had formed a band, Motif Jam. Jeff was full of life and a free spirit. He had many friends amongst whom he was known by various nicknames that reflected his spirited personality and wry sense of humor, such as Cap'n Crump, Parliament Crumpadelic, and The Mayor of Westport. In the past year he had developed an extended family amongst the staff, patrons, and musicians of The Westport Saloon in Kansas City, Missouri. At the time of his death Jeff was very excited about the prospects becoming active once again in the Kansas City music scene. Jeff was a joy to be around and his absence leaves a huge hole in the lives of those that loved him.

Jeff was preceded in death by his grandfather Larry Holton of Shawnee, Kansas. He is survived by his parents Paul Crump (Gayl Payne) of Olathe, Kansas, and Ann Holton Crump of Overland Park, Kansas; brother Christopher Crump of Overland Park, Kansas; grandparents Mary Lou Holton of Shawnee, Kansas, and Richard and Dixie Crump of Olathe, Kansas; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial Visitation

There will be a visitation in Jeff's honor from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at Amos Family Funeral Home.
