Jerry Edmond Chambers, age 73 of Prairie Village, KS went to be with his Savior on Monday October 3, 2022. Jerry was born on December 3, 1948, in Kansas City KS. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School in 1967. He spent his life as a musician, professional guitar player and spent a majority of his career teaching guitar to adults & youth across Kansas City. He was best known for as lead & rhythm guitarist and a vocalist with Kansas City based band Morning Star signed with Columbia Records. Jerry toured nationally with Morning Star for several years becoming a part of the Kansas City’s rich musical culture. The band members were inducted into the Kansas City Hall of Fame in 2012. Jerry married his wife Cara in 1995. They raised their family in Prairie Village KS. He spent his time playing and teaching music, connecting with friends & in his later years enjoying all the benefits of being G-Pa to his seven grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by parents Bill & Ruth Chambers. He is survived by his wife Cara, sons; Joshua Bradley & Ben Prator (Jessica Herman), daughters; Jessica Jones (Matt Jones) & Juli Prator, and his seven grandchildren; Caleb, Joshua, Evelette, Benaiah Jones; Violet and Marigold Prator; Blake Bradley.
