Jerry L. Cook, 46, of Gardner, KS passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at his home.

Jerry was born October 1, 1969 to Charles and Sue Young in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Belton High School in 1988 where he played football. Jerry was awarded a full academic and athletic scholarship to Missouri Western State College. Jerry served as a Boy Scout Leader for his son's Troop, and was at all his daughter's soccer games. He was a talented woodworker and loved to cook with his kids. Jerry was a devoted father and son.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Tamela Cook; his daughter, Aubrie Cook; his son, Danne Cook; his mother, Sue Young; his brother, Chuck Young and wife Jennifer; his sister, Katherine Young; grandmother, Corwina Stewart and many extended family. Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Young, Jr.

Celebration of Life Services

A celebration of Jerry's life will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee.
