Jerry Downey, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at his home in Shawnee, Kansas. He was born July 11, 1935, in Jamesport, Missouri, son of Jarol and Kathryn Downey.

Jerry lived a full and happy life enjoying family and friends. He was easy going and could always find the humor in everything. Jerry had a strong interest in history and current events. He will be greatly missed.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Nolan. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Colleen, daughters Cindy (Audie) Leigh, Sheryl Knies and Laura (Jeff) Mason, seven grandchildren, Jessica Leigh-Green, Trey Leigh, Jeremy Knies, Melissa Knies, Emily Knies, Abby Mason and Ben Mason, four great-grandchildren, Ashton Leigh, Audie Leigh, Adrian Knies and McKenzie Price, two sisters, Donzetta Turnbow and Kathy (John) Tiefel and many extended family and friends.

Memorial Visitation

A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00pm Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas.
