Jerry Rieke, 61 of Shawnee, KS passed away, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at his home. Jerry was born August 11, 1956 to the late Vincent and Eileen Rieke in Shawnee, KS where he lived his whole life. He attended St Joseph School in Shawnee and graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest in 1974. He married Tammy Powers on Feb 12, 1994 the love of his life who he called his Tam girl.

He worked in marketing, digital and yellow page advertising his whole career with most recently working at Summit Media Solutions as a general sales manager.

He was passionate about his home, family, his gardening with Tammy, grilling (his family would tell him, he grilled enough for an army), watching and rooting for his KC Chiefs, and his work. When you saw him, he was always ready to give you his Jerry bear hug to make you feel loved and welcome.

Because he lived his whole life in Shawnee, KS, He couldn't go somewhere without running into someone he knew where you could see him visiting and loving every minute of it. If you needed some help, he would be right there ready and willing to help anyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father n law Gene Powers. He leaves behind his sweet heart bride (Tam girl), a son Bobby Rieke, three daughters, Samantha Jo Rieke, Desirae Rieke and Kaitlyn Rieke, a grandson Wesley Rieke (Wesley called him PawPaw), his 170 lbs of pure dumb dog Max, and his mother n law Luella Powers

Visitation

Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Amos Funeral Home in Shawnee.
