Jesse L. "Jack" Nead, 66, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, August 28, 2009.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd Nead and Betty (Kipper) Nead a sister Betty Jane Gentry, and his former wife Rebecca Nead. He is survived by his wife of 11 years Dr. Danna White D.C. of the home; two sons Jack M. daughter-in-law Joyce Nead and Scott A. Nead; step-daughter Melanie Hokanson; five grandchildren Jordan Nead, J.J. Nead, Amanda Hokanson, Shawn Hokanson, Johnaman Nead; and one great grandchild Jaden Hokanson, and niece Jessica Gentry
Jack was an accomplished tenor saxophone player. In the 60's his band was called " Jack Nead and the Jumping Jacks". His entire career was related to the music field. He was the national sales manager for AVLEX Corporation at the time of his death. Jack was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and a former member of Mutual Musicians Foundation. And a current member of NAMM.
Memorial contributions may be made to charity of donor's choice. The family asks that you please dress casual and wear your Kansas City Chiefs gear.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the chapel.
