Jessie May Sandy Yates, 88 of Shawnee, Kansas passed away Dec. 4, 2015 of natural causes surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 8, 1927 in Rosedale, Kansas to Leo and Dorothy Sandy and preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. She attended the Convent of Good Shepherd of Omaha, Nebraska and loved by the Sisters of the Seven Dolors. She graduated from St Joseph High School of Omaha NE.

On Feb 18, 1950 she married Jack A Yates at St. James Church KCMO. She was a member of MENSA, volunteer EMT for Shawnee Kansas, past president JoCo Women's Golf Assoc. and an active volunteer at the Catholic Library in KCMO. After her career of 44 years with Lutz Daily and Brain as auditor controller, she spent her time loving her family, reading and playing golf, and often relived her hole in one to the delight of those who loved her.

Left to treasure her memory are her husband Jack, sons Dirk and Dan (Deanne) and her daughter Jill, along with eight grandchildren and one great grandchild and her friend Juanita.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, at the Amos Family Funeral Home; the rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m.. Funeral Mass St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee, Kansas 10 am Wednesday December 9. Burial immediately following, St. Joseph Cemetery.
