Jo Dodd

Jo Jean Dodd, 71, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away on March 8, 2020 in her home.

Jo was born March 29, 1948 in Clinton, Missouri to Rolla and Bonita (Swicegood) Vestal. Jo graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in the class of 1966. After graduation, she began her career with Hallmark, starting on the assembly line packing envelopes. Through hard work and dedication, Jo became a successful graphic designer and photo finisher until her retirement in 2003. Jo lived her entire life in Shawnee. She was an avid bowler, loved to shop and was a foodie. Jo found her true calling being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was giving and kind, always putting others before herself.

She is survived by her daughter Tammy Rutledge and her boyfriend Allen Summers; son John and wife Tina Dodd, 8 grandchildren: Kolby Roberts, Zachery Knackstedt, Michael R. Dodd, Kira Rutledge, Jaden Armstrong, Skyler Dodd, James Dodd, and Payton Dodd; 4 great-grandchildren: Michael D. Dodd, Zayden Bosley, Bentley Knackstedt, and Olivia Dodd; and sisters Maggie Vestal Owen and Shirley Vestal. Jo is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Bonnie Vestal.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday followed by a 2:00 p.m. memorial service at the Amos Family Funeral Home.
