Joan Templeton

Joan Sitek Templeton, age 86, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on April 6th, 2021 at her home. Joan was born on November 17th, 1934 in Benton County, Missouri, one of four children born to Melvin and Amanda (Davis) Ashley. She grew up in Benton County and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1951. Shortly thereafter she moved to Kansas City, Missouri and was a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward for 25 years. On May 25th, 1957 she was united in marriage to Boley Sitek and unto this union three sons were born: Steve, Gary and Rich. On December 11th, 1998, her husband of 42 years passed away. On November 4th, 2000, she was united in marriage to Loren Templeton. They made their home in Warsaw, Missouri until Loren passed away on January 10th, 2011. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Eugene, and a sister Wanda. She is survived by her three sons, Steve and wife Jerri, Gary and his wife Debbie, and Rich and his wife Lori; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one sister Claudine Bunch. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones who will miss her greatly.
