Joel E. Powers

Joel E. Powers, 68, of Shawnee, KS passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side Monday, September 30, 2019. Joel was born on November 22, 1950 to Rev. Joseph H. and Helen (Crabb) Powers in Fort Worth, Texas. He married Mary L. (Biondi) Powers on November 27, 1971 in Kansas City, Kansas. He worked as a drywall finisher for over 40 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joseph H. Powers, Jr., John, and Jathan. He is survived by his wife, Mary Powers of 47 years; a daughter and son-in-law, Francie and Clint Buffon; his two grandchildren, Connor and Marissa; brothers Jim and Jody; and sister Joyce.

A visitation will be Saturday, October 5th from 10:00-11:00 am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am at Amos Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1150 N 38 St, Kansas City, KS 66102.
