John Roger Bryant, 78, of Shawnee, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

Roger was born December 17, 1938 to the late John M. Bryant and Ruth Elizabeth Edwards in Kansas City, Missouri.  He graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in 1956, and attended the University of Kansas.  Roger worked as an Insurance Agent for Prudential Life Insurance before retiring after 32 years of service.  He married Pamela A. Sanders on September 24, 1983, in Shawnee, KS.  Roger was an avid golfer loved to spend time working on his game.  He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pam, of 34 years; his children, John Bryant; Susan Keister and husband Roy; Patricia Peyton and husband Vincent; Christopher Watkins; April Hopkins and husband Billy; 10 grandchildren, Joshua Woods; Jeremy Woods; Katie Pummill; William Pummill; Adrienne Watkins; Kalie Hopkins; Billy Hopkins; Maddie Hopkins; Tommy Hopkins; and Courtney Flanery.

Services

A celebration of Roger's life will be 6 pm Thursday, April 13th at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee.
