John E. Burnett

John E. Burnett, 94, of Overland Park, KS passed away on August 14th, 2018.  He was born on October 27th, 1923 in Parker, KS to John and Effie Burnett.  John graduated in the class of 1941 from Parker High School.  He farmed near Parker until the year of 1964.  He was later employed by Smith and Loveless and was also part time at Production Products.  John married Barbara Snyder Heiser in 1966.  They were married for 37 years before she passed away in 2003.  He then married Kathryn Wilson in 2004.  John was a 50 year member of the Parker Lodge #341.  In his free time, John enjoyed dominoes with his friends and family.  He belonged to the Parker Methodist Church and later Valley View United Methodist Church.  John will be remembered for his good nature, sense of humor and his dedication to his friends and family.  John is survived by his wife, Kathryn; stepchildren, David (Nancy) Heiser; Michael (Beth) Burnett; Larry (Brenda) Burnett; 8 grandchildren 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Barbara; brothers, Thomas and Lloyd Burnett.

A Memorial Service will be held at Valley View United Methodist Church, 8412 W. 95th St. Overland Park, KS 66212 on Saturday, August 25th at 2:00 PM.
