John P. “Jack” Christiansen

Jack P. Christiansen, 90, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012.

Jack was born November 26, 1921, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Antone Peter and Vera (Callahan) Christiansen. He was a 1938 graduate of Center High School, Kansas City, Missouri. Jack was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII. He worked at the Gas Service Company for 33 years, retireing in 1983 as superintendent of installation and service in Johnson County.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Frank Chirstiansen. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Dorothy (Straubinger) Christiansen; his four children and their families, Linda Corpolongo, her two sons, Troy and Tom Corpolongo, Penbroke Pines, Florida; son, John D. Christiansen his wife, Sheila, Shawnee, Kansas and their children, Lisa and Phil Snedeger; Sara and David Frisbie, and their son, Dale David Christiansen and Adam Christiansen; son, Blake W. Christiansen and wife, Beatriz, Lakewood, Colorado and their son, Raul and Mindy Christiansen and their two children, Olivia and Natalie; son, Bob Christiansen and wife, Hope, Fayetteville, Arkansas and their two children, Noah and Rosie.

Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with memorial services following at 11-12:00.
