John “Jack” Duffin

John "Jack" Duffin, 82, passed away at home April 3, 2013.

John was born June 6, 1930, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Fay and Lucille (VanZant) Duffin. He grew up as an active Eagle Scout and leader. He graduated from Rosedale High School in 1948 and served in the US Marine Corp. John worked for KCP&L for 38 years before retiring in 1988. He was a very active member of the Rosedale Masonic Lodge and Abdallah Shrine Temple in Overland Park, Kansas. John was a devoted and caring husband, father, and grandfather to his beloved grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Georgann; daughters, Jill Bush and Tracy Hyer; son Jack Duffin; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Jem Duffin (Judi); sister Sharon Kinley (Don); and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Abdallah Shrine Temple, 5300 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas 66202.
