John M. Farnsworth

May 2, 1921 — September 8, 2014

Husband. Soldier. Friend. Grandpa. Roles lovingly exemplified through our family patriarch, John Michael Farnsworth, born May 2, 1921 in Warrensburg, MO, who entered eternal life on Monday evening, September 8, 2014, at the age of 93. His legacy is carried on by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary, and children Michael (Jan), Gary (Bonnie), Ron (Teresa), Marilyn (Jim Kelly), and Steven (Carol), brother-in-law, Harold K. Evans, niece, Mona Potter, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He served with distinction in World War II with the 305th Bombardment Group, Eighth Army Air Corp. He was employed by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority for thirty-nine years. John was a member of Asbury Methodist Church. He excelled at handiwork, building his beloved lake home, Rocky Oaks, at Ivy Bend, Lake of the Ozarks. John loved his friends and neighbors, always willing to lend a hand or tool. He is remembered by the smell of fresh cut grass and raps of rain on the boat dock roof, and a glowing smile forever embossed on the memories of his family.
