John Fred Kuykendall

John Fred Kuykendall, 84, of Shawnee, KS, died, Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015.

John was born in Cullman, AL. He served in the US Air Force and retired in 1971 after 20 years of service. He later worked as a custodian for the Shawnee Mission School District. He was also a vegetable farmer and sold his produce at the Kansas City and Shawnee City Markets. He also volunteered at Shawnee Community Services, Old Shawnee Days, and Restart.

He is survived by his wife, June Kuykendall; a daughter, Patricia Kuykendall; and a sister, Opal Smith. Preceding him in death was his favorite walking buddy, his dog Buster.

Visitation will be 2 - 4 pm, Sunday at the Amos Family Funeral Home with funeral services at 10:30 am Monday. Burial in Pleasant View Cemetery.
