John Edward Nicol, 38, of Shawnee, KS passed away unexpectedly in his home on June 5, 2022.
John was born February 25, 1984 in Shawnee, KS to Robert Nicol and Tracy (Wiliker) Chomyak. John attended Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. Growing up he enjoyed playing baseball, studying Jujitsu and earning his black belt, winning many trophies he admires and still has on a shelf to this day. He then married the love of his life Sabrina (Reid) Nicol December 11, 2012 and together were blessed with 5 girls that were his life’s proudest moment and was truly the most loving and patient father and husband.
John later continued his studies in Business Management through Fort Hayes University while working as a supervisor at Alliance Data and managing many events and fundraisers as well. Two of his favorites were the March of dimes and supporting St Jude Hospital in honor of his children.
Many of his favorite hobbies he loved was sharing information about cryptocurrency, gardening with his kids, music of all sorts, teaching guitar and keyboard to his girls, everything Star Wars, and making every football season like a Super Bowl party with his girls, snacks and all. John also had a knack for creativity and a way with words, filling many sketchbooks and journals with doodles, drawings, amazing poems, and stories of his life. And recently loved woodworking as a pastime.
John also very much enjoyed taking his family camping, taking trips to the lake to gaze at the stars outside the city glare. Also sitting around the fire pit he built at home with his children, making countless s’mores. He was truly a wonderful soul that will forever be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Sabrina Nicol; daughters Savannah, Sydney, Mackenzie, Avery, and Hailey Nicol; his Mother Tracy (Ed) Chomyak; brothers Andrew (Jacklyn), Zach, and Nicholas; his Grandmother; Vicki (Steve) Day, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and one Nephew Theodore Nicol.
John is preceded in death by his Father, Robert Nicol; Maternal Grandfather, John Wiliker; Paternal Grandparents Betty and Doug Nicol.
A memorial services will be 6:00 pm, Wednesday, July 6, 2022 with a visitation from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm both at Amos Family Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made towards an education fund for John’s beautiful children. Donations may be sent in care of Tracy Chomyak 15274 Long St. Overland Park, KS 66221.
