John Densham Postlewait, 73, passed on to his eternal reward December 2nd. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he attended St. Elizabeth grade school, Bishop Hogan High School, and Creighton University. He married Joanne Marie Kosse in 1968. They raised four beloved children, Jeffrey, Jason, James, and Joy Langlois. All of whom have been a wonderful support to him, especially in the last few months. They have blessed him with his beautiful grandchildren: Emma, Ella, Landon, his soon to arrive brother, Madison, Clara, and Betsy.
John was an Eagle Scout and was active in Boy Scouts for over 30 years. During college he went through ROTC leading to a two-year commitment in the United States Army serving as a Military Intelligence officer. After which, he worked over 30 years with Racket Merchandise. Afterwards, he earned his Master's degree and taught part-time at Johnson County Community College. At the same time, he worked part-time for C W concrete in Olathe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and Robert Postlewait and his brother Tim. He is survived by his older brother, Michael Postlewait, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at St. Joseph Church, Shawnee, Kansas from 9:30-10:30 on Wednesday, December 5th prior to the funeral mass at 10:30. The burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.
