John David Sanburg, a long time resident of Overland Park, Kansas, died on March 17th, 2021 at the age of 57. John went peacefully in his home due to complications associated with liver and kidney failure.
John is survived by his brother Jason Sanburg of Olathe, Kansas and his wife Sara Sanburg, and their daughter Amelia Jane Sanburg; by his step daughter Erin Baxter of Overland Park Kansas, her husband Sean Baxter and their four children, Madison, Jackson, Emerson & Grayson; and by his constant companion Wallace the "Wonder Dog." He is preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Nancy Jane Sanburg; his paternal grandparents Gerald and Betty Sanburg; and his maternal grandparents John and Mildred Keim.
John was born on May 2nd, 1963 in York, Nebraska to Ron Sanburg and Nancy Sanburg (Keim). He spent his early childhood in the small farming community of Davenport, Nebraska. In 1971 the family moved to Overland Park, Kansas where John lived the remainder of his life.
John was never married or had children of his own, but was honored to have helped raise his stepdaughter Erin. John lived a quiet life but leaves behind a legacy filled with strong friendships and a devotion to helping others in any way he could. John was a mechanic, an I.T. professional, a builder and much more. He was many things, to many people and touched countless lives with his kind heart, compassion and helpful spirit.
