John Paul Vangoethem

John Paul VanGoethem, 39, Kansas City, Missouri passed away Friday, September 10, 2010, at the Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas.

John was born January 10, 1971. in Kansas City, Missouri, to David and Cheryl (Sumstine) Van Goethem. On June 17, 2000, John married Loretta Miller in Stilwell, Kansas. He was a draftsman at Burns and McDonnell. John was a member of the South Kansas City Model Railroad Club.

John is survived by his wife, Loretta (Miller) Van Goethem; parents David and Cheryl Van Goethem, Stilwell, ansasS; two sisters, Sheri Kennedy and her husband, Todd, Overland Park, Kansas and Melissa Van Goethem, Kansas City, Missouri; grandparents, Robert Van Goethem and wife, Linda, Louisburg, Kansas, Donna Van Goethem, Overland, Park, Kansas and Harold and Hazel Sumstine, Stover, Missouri; father-in-law, Harold Miller and wife, Vernice, Waverly, Kansas; mother-in-law, Lydia Miller, Westphalia, Kansas; two brothers-in-law and their spouses, John and Loretta Miller, Garnett, Kansas and Henry and Dacia Miller, Lindside, West Virginia; and many family and friends.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Funeral services will be 10 a.m, Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Overland Park with burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Amos Family Chapel Shawnee.
