Joseph B. Jansen

Joseph B. Jansen, 89, Lenexa, KS (formerly of Fordyce, NE) passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. Joseph was born March 27, 1922 inFordyce, NE to Anna and Henry Jansen. He was a lifelong farmer in Fordyce, NE. Joseph was a member of Catholic Forester's and Holy Name Society for over 50 years.

Joseph was preceded in death by grandson, Eric Jansen. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Jansen; two sons, Patrick (Cheryl) Jansen, Greenwood, IN and Ronald (Elaine) Jansen, Lenexa, KS; three sisters, Delores Haselhorst, Osmond, NE, Juliana (Ray) Pick, Hartington, NE and Jeanette (Edward) Pinkelman, Wynot, NE; brother, Paul (Barbara) Jansen, Omaha, NE; seven grandchildren, Robert, Nicole, Emily, Katelyn, Samantha, Jacob, and Matthew Jansen.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House,12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145.

Visitation will be 3-5 pm, Sunday, Jan15 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, where a Rosary recitation will be at 4:00 pm. Funeral mass will be 10:00 am Monday, January 16 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lenexa, KS. Cremation will follow services. A burial service will be held at a later date in the Menominee, NE Cemetery.
