Josephine Marie “Josie” Lecluyse

Josephine Marie "Josie" (Dragna) LeCluyse, 86, of Lenexa, KS, passed away May 12, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. Born 1928 in Beaumont, TX, Josie became a Dominican nun in 1945. In 1969 she left the convent and moved to Kansas with her brother Nick. In 1971 she married Robert C. LeCluyse, a widowed father of eight. They owned and ran Plant-It Earth until Bob's death in 1983. Josie then served as registrar at Notre Dame de Sion Lower School. After retiring, she served others as a volunteer at Catholic Charities. An avid gardener, reader, and woman of faith, her motto was "Look to this day, for it is life."

Josie is survived by her children Mike (Julie, Leawood, KS), Tom (Diane, Fort Collins, CO), Joe (Eileen, Parkville, MO), Bill (Debby, Olathe, KS), Anna, and Chris (Christina, Murray, UT).

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 18 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Stone Chapel, 9130 Pflumm Rd., burial at St. John Cemetery. Visitation 9:30-10:30 at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities Emergency Assistance.
