Josephine A. Thompson

Josephine A. Thompson, 98, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 17, at the Sweet Life of Shawnee in Shawnee, Kansas.

Josephine was born June 25, 1914 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to the late Leroy and Edna Graul. Josephine graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor's degree in English in 1936. On September 16, 1939, Josephine married John H. Thompson of Creston, Iowa, in Maquoketa, Iowa. In November of 1983, John preceded her in death after 44 years of marriage. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sac City, Iowa.

Josephine is survived by her loving daughters Susan Sweeney and husband Phil, Linda Lampe and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Susan Wurtenberger and husband John, Christian Lampe and wife Megan; three great grandchildren, Anne Wurtenberger, Jackson Lampe, and Grace Lampe.

Josephine was also preceded by a stillborn child, James Paul in 1958.

Mass of Christian burial will be 9 a.m. December, 20, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, Missouri. Burial following at Oakland Cemetery in Sac City, Iowa.
