Joy Dell Kellner

Joy Dell Kellner, 88, of Shawnee passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was born on September 23, 1934, in Baxter Springs, Kansas. She is survived by son, David Gratton, son, Steven Gratton and his wife Julia, and son, Phillip Gratton and his wife Kim; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

After a 30-year career with United Telecommunications, Joy retired in 1999. She kept busy by serving various organizations and her church. She was a volunteer at Shawnee Mission Medical Center for 14 years with nearly 4,000 hours worked and Meals on Wheels for 8 years. At church, she was an eucharistic minister, a member of the prayer chain, a hospitality usher, and a member of the welcoming committee. She was always ready to offer a helping hand wherever it was needed. Joy loved reading, crocheting, playing bridge with friends, and watching the Royals.

The Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Shawnee, Kansas. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, Missouri.
