Joyce C. McNeel, affectionately known as "Honey"; passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Brookdale of Shawnee.

Honey was born July 17, 1925 to William and Margaret Chapman in Independence, Missouri.  Honey graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1943.  On June 25, 1950 she married Ray Clinton McNeel, who preceded her in death September 8, 2000.  Honey was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who made her family the center of her life.  She enjoyed family gatherings in her home, working in her yard, and crossword puzzles.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Harold, Don, and Billie Chapman; and sister Oleta Douglas. Honey is survived by her children, Paula Fann (Greg); Diana Trice (Craig) Carla Rieke (Fred); Jim McNeel (Franny); Bill McNeel; 10 grandchildren, Justin LaHue (fiancé Leah Morris); Nic Fann (Kelly) Chris Fann; Jason McNeel (Kristie); Brandon Trice; Ryan Trice (fiancé Kara Steffens); Olivia Trice; Jackie Baker; Stacy Gratz (Michael); Scott Rieke (Robin); six great grandchildren Payton, Tenley, and, Addison Fann, William Gratz, Olivia and Hunter Rieke, sister Jean Munger (Don) and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 21 at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee.  Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Honey will be laid to rest next to her husband in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, KS.
