Judy E Collins (Helmert), beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away August 23, 2016, at the age of 77. She was born in Concordia, Kansas, to Jim and Virginia Helmert, and went on the attend Hogan High School followed by University of St. Mary earning a bachelor in English. Teaching 5 of her first 8 years at Hogan High School before leaving to become a full time mother of 2 daughter’s. She returned to teaching 10 years later where she taught at Smith Hale Jr. High for the next 19 years.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Nicole. Judy leaves behind her husband of 52 years Michael Collins. She is also survived by her daughter Catherine Collins; sister Mary Kremer; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grand child.

Always devoted to family and friends she was full of life enjoying nothing more than celebrating with family and friends. Her gift of herself will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial Service

Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 28th, 2016, at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee.
