June K. Brown, 95, passed away on November 16, 2016 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Merriam, KS. June was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who is survived by eldest son, Ronald and his wife, Carol; daughter, Lesley; youngest son, Kevin; and grandsons, Patrick and Christopher. June was a St. Luke's Hospital nurse in Chicago, Ill during World War II. She and her husband, Frank were married after Frank survived World War II battles across the Pacific Campaigns with the US Army. Settling in Lombard, Ill. June and Frank had 3 children, Ron, Lesley, and Kevin. The Browns moved to Prairie Village, KS in 1954 when Frank was transferred with AT&T to the KC, MO offices.

June was an allergy nurse for the offices of Dr. Dockhorn and Dr. Burr in Prairie Village. June loved living in Greater Kansas City while watching her children flourish in the Shawnee Mission schools. She was a Cub Scout leader for her 2 sons and a Girl Scout leader for her daughter. The Browns joined Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church of Overland Park, KS in September 1962 and remained active until they retired permanently to the Mission/McAllen TX - Rio Grande Valley area. Frank and June spent 25 years in the Valley as active members of the First Presbyterian Church of McAllen. After Frank's death in December 2008, June returned to Kansas City and lived in Shawnee, KS. She was reunited with Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church and remained an active member assisting with local service projects over her remaining years. June lived the Golden Rule in her life and always assisted anyone needing help. Her proudest moments in life were watching her three children receive their college degrees.

June's Memorial Service will be at Rolling Hills Church at 9300 Nall in Overland Park, KS on Monday November 21, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the main Sanctuary. A visitation period will immediately follow the service in the Ralston Fireside Room.
