June E. Mullen

June Ellen Mullen, 93, of Leawood, KS, passed away on Nov. 22, 2018. She was born on Dec. 21, 1924, in Madison, WI, to Oscar and Carrie Ishmael. June was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Mullen; sons, Kevin Mullen, James Mullen; daughters, Cathleen Mullen, Patricia McPherson; along with 4 siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Mullen of Destin, FL, Margaret Mullen of Denver, CO; son-in-law, Bruce McPherson of Topeka, KS; grandchildren, Scott McPherson, Jennifer Schiedel; great-grandsons, Alex, Brandon, and Jesse.

June was a devout Catholic and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, KS, for 53 years. After raising her 6 children, she worked at Sprint for 20 years, retiring in 1994. June was a resident at Town Village Independent Senior Living in Leawood, KS for 8 years. She was a huge sports fan and loved the KC Chiefs, KC Royals, KU Jayhawks, Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers. The family would like to send a sincere thank you to her loving caregiver Rachel Huck. They would also like to thank the staff at KU Heart Hospital and Brookdale Overland Park.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Amos Family Funeral Home with a Rosary starting at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, KS. Burial at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa, KS.
