Kathleen Ingraham Marshall

November 1, 1983 — May 26, 2023

Kansas City

Once upon a time, a special, beautiful, gentle, kind, friendly, and freckle-faced girl with a radiant smile and great sense of humor came into this world destined to be a person who, despite being somewhat shy, would make all other people and pets who knew her feel special. That girl was Kathleen Ingraham Marshall, who sadly passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023. Born to Patti and Jim Ingraham on November 1, 1983, in Overland Park, Kansas, Kathleen fulfilled that destiny during her years growing up in Prairie Village and Lenexa, Kansas, years at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in Shawnee, Kansas, the University of Kansas (Bachelor’s Degree) and Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts (Master in Fine Arts Degree), and her years of service at Allen Press in Lawrence, Kansas (Managing Editor), and, most recently, at the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors in Leawood, Kansas (Deputy Executive Director). Her ability to make others feel special was most evident in her relationships with her husband, Jed Marshall, her nephews and nieces who adored Aunt Kathleen, her other family members, her friends and her beloved dogs, Winnie and Bert. Her work with children at Jacob’s Well Church had the wonderful effect of making Kathleen feel special.  Kathleen was a wonderful writer, an avid reader and a loyal fan of the University of Kansas basketball and football teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.

Among those surviving Kathleen whose lives were made more special by her are her parents, her husband, her siblings, Jim (Lindsey), Rick (Corinne), Rebecca and Hallie (Connor), her nieces and nephews, James, Sam, Julia, Ethan and Thea, and her beloved dog, Bert.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 2, at 10 a.m. at Jacob’s Well Church, 1617 W 42nd Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64111. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Church in Kathleen’s honor at the address above or online at jacobswellchurch.org.
