Kazue Price, 83, of Overland Park, KS went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, May 21, 2018 at Sunrise Senior Living Center of Overland Park, KS. She was born October 9, 1934 to Rokuzo and Kita Matsumoto in Tokyo, Japan. She received all her formal education in Tokyo, Japan. In August, 1959 she married Robert Daniel Price, an American in the US Air Force, who was stationed in Japan at the time. They lived for a brief time in Japan after their marriage and then moved to St. Louis, MO.
After his Air Force service, Robert was employed by the McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company and had several stations of employment around the world. Kazue always traveled with him and at the time of his retirement they were again living in St. Louis. In 1996 they moved to the Kansas City area where they have resided until the present time. They were happily married for over 58 years.
Kazue trusted Christ as her Savior as a teenager through the work of a missionary who moved to her neighborhood and hired her to help their young family. She never forgot that message of God's love and as such, enriched her marriage to please the Lord. Her life was lived as a gracious testimony of Christ's love. After moving to Kansas City she was in happy fellowship at her church, the Bible Chapel of Shawnee, Shawnee, KS.
She loved opening her home to friends and family. In addition to her love for hospitality, she also enjoyed cooking, especially Japanese cooking, which all her guests thoroughly enjoyed. Her greatest delight was as a loving mother and grandmother to her sons and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1967 and her mother in 1985.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, of the home; her sisters and brother, Yuki, Tamae, and Akihito of Japan; 2 sons, David Mark Price of Crown Point, IN and Dr. Steven Daniel Price and wife Janet of Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 3 in-law grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will begin on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203.
