Kenneth E. "Ken" Bauer, passed away on February 28, 2010, from complications from cancer.
Ken was the only child of Fred and Marie Bauer, born on January 24, 1932, in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1950 before attending Kansas City Kansas Junior College and the University of Kansas and graduated from the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 1962 with a degree in Business Administration. Ken was an avid bowler, golfer and fast pitch softball player and was a diehard Kansas University basketball fan, living or dying with each Jayhawk win and/or loss. He retired in 1989 from Certain Teed where he was an industrial engineer.
Ken met his future wife, Mary J. Palermo in 1956 at the Redemptorist Social Club. They were married on June 7, 1959 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri.
Ken is survived by his wife Mary of 51 years, his 4 children and their spouses: Michael D. Bauer and Gayla, Jerry P. Bauer and Laura, Janice M. Willard and Ron, and David P. Bauer and Heather; grandchildren, Julia, Mathew, Andrew and Kellie Willard. Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved granddaughter Christine M. Willard.
